Transit Data

Transit MODAPTS is a system of predetermined times developed by Chris Heyde for warehouse and material handling applications. For 10 years, the data for heavy items, which are handled quite different from the grasps and moves found in basic MODAPTS were incorporated into the IMA MODAPTS training. Effective spring, 1999, such references are being made optional and removed from the teaching materials.

Other portions of the data, developed for operating material handling equipment and picking orders was explained by Brian Sullivan in his tutorial in 1998.

Supplementary data is a data block approach in which fixed groups or blocks of MODAPTS elements may be added together to obtain time values for elements and for entire operations. Some presently available MODAPTS supplementary data sets are described to the left and below.
